This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.
Winemaking Hand-harvested at peak ripeness, this Primitivo captures the essence of Puglia’s sun-drenched vineyards and iron-rich soils. Gentle fermentation techniques preserve the wine’s vibrant black cherry and plum notes, while oak aging adds layers of spice and a velvety texture. The result is a rich yet balanced expression, where bold fruit meets refined structure for a smooth, lingering finish. Crafted from heritage Primitivo grapes grown in Puglia’s sun-soaked vineyards, this wine reflects the region’s vibrant terroir.
Vintage The 2023 vintage in Puglia was marked by abundant sunshine and cooling coastal breezes, creating ideal conditions for Primitivo to develop its signature richness and depth. Warm summer days allowed the grapes to achieve full ripeness, while the region’s limestone and iron-rich soils contributed to the wine’s refined structure and mineral complexity. Harvested at peak maturity, this Primitivo balances bold black cherry and blackberry flavors with fine-grained tannins and a touch of spice, resulting in a smooth, fruit-forward expression of southern Italy’s celebrated terroir.
Pairing Logic This Primitivo’s ripe black cherry and blackberry notes, combined with warm spice, make it an ideal match for braised meats, barbecue, and hearty pasta dishes with rich tomato-based sauces. Roasted root vegetables and aged cheeses will highlight its fine-grained tannins and lingering fruit. For a refined pairing, experiment with dishes featuring anise, clove, or nutmeg to enhance the wine’s depth and complexity.
