Bottled to mark 100 years of Suntory whisky making, this edition comes from the Japanese distillery that opened in 1923 and started the country's malt tradition. The blend draws on malt whiskies matured at least 12 years, including spirit shaped by Japanese Mizunara oak, giving the 43% ABV single malt its familiar mix of gentle fruit and gentle spice. 750 ml.
Pure gold in the glass, it begins with peach, pineapple, and candied citrus, then softens across the palate with coconut, cranberry, and butter. The finish runs long, closing on sweet ginger and warming cinnamon. Copper-toned anniversary packaging nods to the distillery's place at the center of Japanese whisky.
