The Other Right Nuance Pinot Noir 2019 is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, made by husband-and-wife team Alex Schulkin and Galit Shachaf. The fruit is sourced from organically and sustainably farmed vineyards across the Adelaide Hills, a practice the duo adopted in full from the 2016 vintage onward. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and made without added sulfites.
Adelaide Hills sits within the Mount Lofty Ranges at elevations between 300 and 700 meters, making it one of Australia's coolest and most elevated wine regions. Soils are predominantly grey-brown loamy sands over clay subsoils, with patches of shale and ironstone. The long, cool growing season produces Pinot Noir with naturally high acidity, restrained alcohol, and well-defined fruit character.
Alex Schulkin works as a wine scientist at Wine Australia by day, giving The Other Right an unusually rigorous technical foundation without abandoning the minimal-intervention philosophy. Winemaking is kept to a reasonable minimum: no additives are used, and the wine is allowed to evolve at its own pace. The result is a wine the producers describe as precise and pure, shaped by site rather than cellar.
