Whiskey and a cigar… life is good.
Take a sip.
Take a draw.
Ahhh… all is well.
One look at the Arturo Fuente The OpusX Society Glencairn Crystal whiskey glass and we’re instantly getting ready for cocktail hour, or as some might think of it: “scotch o’clock.”
Seriously, it’s one of the great combinations, like coffee and cigars, beer and cigars, and mixed drinks and cigars.
Hmm. It may just be that we’re happy to have ANYTHING with a cigar, but that’s just how the Lord made us, apparently.
These Glencairn crystal glasses are crafted, unsurprisingly, at the Glencairn Crystal factory in Scotland. The company refers to them as the “definitive” whiskey glass, and it seems they’re pretty much right about that. Each type of drink has obsessed fans who demand a vessel perfectly designed JUST for that particular beverage. Wine and port have it, brandy has it, the martini has it… and so must sipping whiskey. These glasses are now used at whiskey events and top-notch bars around the world.
The design of these Arturo Fuente The OpusX Society Glencairn Crystal whiskey glasses is well thought out. The base is solid, the bowl allows room for a bit of water or ice, and the taper brings that sweet liquor to your mouth, making the whole experience complete. It’s not a necessity, but it’s nice to have around when you’re really in the mood to sink into a glass of spirits.
As for the etching, the glasses are deeply engraved using a sand-carving method by master carvers right here in the USA. This was needed to ensure that these OpusX Society glasses would always bear the mark of the brand they celebrate.
OpusX Society is a collection created for the Fuentes through a collaboration with Cuban designer Manny Iriarte. A longtime company partner, Mr. Iriarte has made watches, ashtrays, lighters, and other cigar lifestyle accessories to honor the legacy of a cigar line that has been on top of the world for decades. Ever since it first became Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2005, OpusX was a hot commodity. To this day, diehard fans buy out the stock of them wherever they appear, whether it’s a core blend or a much anticipated special edition short run.
If you know, you know.
For the OpusX hounds out there, this branded Glencairn glass is a fine way to enjoy one of life’s pleasures: a scotch and Fuente’s finest.
