Origins & Craftsmanship
Hailing from the Speyside region of Scotland, this “A Night on Earth” expression is part of The Macallan’s annual series that marks the spirit of togetherness, milestone moments and thoughtful luxury. Crafted from the distillery’s signature non-age-statement single malt, it’s matured in a blend of ex-bourbon American oak and sherry-seasoned European oak casks. For this 2025 edition, the whisky is bottled at around 43% ABV, with no artificial colouring. The packaging is richly designed to reflect the series’ theme—bringing artistry and narrative together.
Tasting Profile
-
Nose: Opens with creamy vanilla, honeyed cereal, and subtle orchard fruits (pear or peach). A gentle toast of oak and a hint of warm baking spice provide depth.
-
Palate: Smooth and medium-bodied, with caramelised sugar and baked vanilla-fudge sweetness leading. Layers of dried fruit—fig or raisin—emerge, balanced by toasted oak and a light citrus lift.
-
Finish: The finish is soft, polished and warming. It leaves lingering notes of light toffee, gentle oak tannin, a trace of spice, and just enough fruit brightness to keep the experience balanced.
