Filled in 1968 and left undisturbed in a single oak cask for nearly fifty years, this Glenrothes single malt comes from Cask 13508 and was bottled at 50.2% ABV. The character Glenrothes is known for comes through clearly: ripe orchard fruit, a lift of citrus, creamy vanilla and faint exotic spice running underneath.
Only 309 bottles were drawn from the two casks selected from that 1968 filling. On the palate it is warm and layered, with oak, spice and dried fruit leading into a smooth finish that holds for some time. Presented in a 750 ml bottle.
