The Glenlivet 55 Year Old is the oldest single malt whisky ever released by the Speyside distillery. It is the inaugural release in the Eternal Collection, a sequence of five annual limited editions intended to celebrate the distillery's 200th anniversary in 2024. Founded in 1824 by George Smith, The Glenlivet was the first legal distillery in the parish and has grown to become the top selling single malt in the United States and the second largest globally. Today, the distillery is owned by the Chivas Brothers subsidiary of the French spirits group Pernod Ricard.
