The oldest permanent Glenlivet
Launched in January 2025, the 40 Year Old became the oldest permanent expression in The Glenlivet range. The distillery plan to bottle it at cask strength annually, so each release reflects the casks selected that year.
The whisky
Matured and refined for at least 40 years, the whisky is finished in custom casks from Jerez, Spain, seasoned with a bespoke blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherries. The Glenlivet describe rich notes of poached plums and charred orange, dark cherries, warming spice and braised red apples, with a long, sweet finish.
How to enjoy it
Pour a small measure neat into a tulip glass and let it rest. At 46.9% ABV it needs little or no water. Take time over it, ideally without food, so the fruit and spice can develop.
