The GlenAllachie 11 Year Old 2014 Cask #1769 Oloroso Puncheon is a limited single-cask Speyside single malt Scotch whisky selected exclusively for Kensington Wine Market in Calgary. Distilled at The GlenAllachie in 2014 and bottled after 11 years of maturation, this expression was drawn from Oloroso Sherry Puncheon #1769 and bottled at a powerful natural strength of 62.0% ABV. Limited to just 700 bottles, it delivers a deeply sherried profile of dried fruits, chocolate, nuts and warming spices while retaining the distillery's rich malt and fruit character.
Food Pairing: Pair with dark chocolate, pecan pie, aged Manchego, roasted walnuts, dried figs, fruitcake or chocolate-orange desserts.
Tasting Notes: Rich, dark and intensely sherried, with dried fruits, chocolate and roasted nuts complemented by candied citrus, warming spice and chewy malt.
Nose: Dried fruits, fig jam and dates mingle with strawberry liquorice, chocolate, stem ginger, cinnamon and freshly brewed coffee.
Palate: Powerful and coating, with raisins, dates and figs layered with pecan pie, candied orange peel, chocolate, cinnamon, ginger and chewy malt.
Finish: Long, rich and warming, leaving persistent nutty Oloroso character, dark fruit, chocolate and lingering spice.
