Tasting notes: Strawberry, Apricot, Floral
Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm covers 500 hectares in Ethiopia’s Guji zone, with about 300 hectares planted in coffee. Ismael Hassen Aredo and his family have operated the farm since 2012 near Shakiso, where this mixed-heirloom lot grows at 2,145 metres.
Natural processing magnifies the fruit character for which Guji is known. The cup is velvety and refined, with ripe strawberry, apricot, and dried mango, followed by jasmine, honeysuckle, and lasting vanilla sweetness. It is an expressive summer-style coffee with both bright fruit and a soft, polished finish.
