Crafted in the famed sun-drenched hills surrounding Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy, Tenute Poggiocaro Rosso di Montalcino DOC is a vibrant, food-friendly red wine affectionately known as the "Baby Brunello." Produced entirely from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grown on prime hillside vineyards with well-draining galestro and clay soils, this cuvée offers all the regional soul and aromatic complexity of Montalcino in a more approachable, youthful style. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and aged for approximately one year in large Slavonian oak casks (botti) and French oak barrels, Poggiocaro balances bright red fruit intensity with supple tannins, fresh natural acidity, and subtle earthy minerality.
Food Pairing: Classic Tuscan ragù pasta, roasted chicken, grilled pork chops, margherita pizza, mushroom risotto, charcuterie, and medium-aged cheeses like Pecorino Toscano.
