Tenuta Sette Cieli Bolgheri NOI4 originates from the prestigious Bolgheri DOC in Tuscany, Italy. The estate is situated on high-altitude terraces 400 metres above sea level, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci. Under the guidance of owner Ambrogio Cremona Ratti and his family, the winery maintains a philosophy of organic practices and meticulous vineyard management to preserve the heritage and unique microclimate of the estate.
Wine Description
This deep, purple-toned red presents an elegant sensory profile characterized by its richness and complexity. The nose reveals intense aromas of blackberry jam, candied lavender, and sweet Mediterranean herbs, underpinned by hints of espresso, dark chocolate, and incense. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and plush, offering a 'fresh and crunchy' texture with flavors of blackcurrant, tobacco, and licorice. It is remarkably balanced, featuring high natural acidity and firm, ripe tannins that lead to a savory finish with notes of tea leaves and menthol.
Food Pairing
The bold structure and concentrated fruit of this Bolgheri red make it an ideal companion for hearty meat dishes such as roast lamb, venison haunch, or a Shorthorn T-bone steak. It also pairs exceptionally well with territorial Tuscan specialties like wild boar with polenta or potato-stuffed Tortelli Mugellani served with a rich meat sauce. For a more contemporary match, consider pairing it with a Canadian tourtière or beef burgundy.
