Taylors 'FOR THE HUNT' 20 Year Old Tawny Port
Taylor’s crafts its exceptional 20-year-old Tawny Port using carefully selected wines from its deep reserves of cask-aged stock, all matured in the company’s historic lodges in Oporto on Portugal’s Atlantic coast.
Over two decades, the fruit character has mellowed beyond that of the 10-year-old, giving way to richer notes of spice and toasted nuts, with the aromas and depth of long ageing coming through with greater intensity.
- Aromas of dried figs, orange peel and toasted almonds rise from the glass, followed by notes of butterscotch and spice.
- The palate is silky and mellow, offering flavours of caramelised nuts, plum, vanilla and subtle oak. The sweetness is refined rather than heavy, supported by gentle acidity that gives the wine lift and length.
- The finish is long, nutty and elegant, showcasing the harmony that only two decades of ageing can bring.
Perfect with creme brulee, nut-based desserts or a board of aged cheeses.
