Talbott Kali Hart Chardonnay 2024 originates from the United States, within the California region and the Monterey County subregion of the Central Coast. Renowned for crafting estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Talbott Vineyards was built on inspirations drawn from Burgundian traditions. The winery's current operational philosophy centers on letting the fruit guide the way with minimal intervention, utilizing grapes grown in cool-climate settings to optimize regional clarity and freshness.
Wine Description
This white wine displays a clear white appearance and possesses a smooth, full-bodied structure with a luscious, inviting palate. The sensory profile represents the most fruit-forward expression in the producer's portfolio, opening with an aromatic nose of rich Madagascar vanilla, warm brioche, and ripe stone fruit. On the vibrant palate, it delivers intense flavours of Bosc pear, tangerine, pineapple, papaya, and mango. The finish is remarkably soft, clean, and persistent, balanced by refreshing acidity, a hint of minerality, and trailing hard spice notes.
Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay.
Stylistic Notes: The wine is celebrated for its buttery complexity and bright mouthfeel, achieving structural harmony by balancing standard Californian oak elements against a core of lively, crisp fruit.
ABV: Recorded between 14% and 14.3%.
Organic Status: While the estate relies on precision viticulture across its premium Monterey holdings, this commercial bottling is not certified organic.
Food Pairing
The fruit-forward intensity, round texture, and bright acidity of this Chardonnay make it an excellent partner for rich seafood dishes and earthy fare.
Seafood: Pairs phenomenally well with high-end selections such as lobster with drawn butter, garlic shrimp, pan-seared crab cakes, or tuna tartare.
Savoury: Suggested pairings include dishes highlighted by wild mushrooms, which beautifully echo the wine's underlying hard spice and mineral notes.
Light Fare: An ideal match for vegetarian pasta creations, roasted summer vegetables, or simple porch-side sipping.
