Foundation Cigar Company has flourished under the guidance of Nicholas Melillo, offering cigar lovers a plethora of decadently flavorful smokes that showcase the best of Connecticut tobacco mixed with top-shelf leaves from the World’s best-growing regions. One of the finest examples of Melillo’s penchant for lavishly rich and tasty creations is the Tabernacle Broadleaf Toro,
The Tabernacle line is a nod to age-old traditions about the resting place of the Ark of the Covenant before its placement in Solomon’s Temple. Like the Tabernacle traditions, Melillo shows reverence for Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco blending it with only the finest Nicaraguan Esteli and Honduran Jamastran filler tobaccos. A Mexican San Andres binder completes the beautiful 6” x 52 Toro, a 90-rated treasure filled with hidden delights.
The Tabernacle Broadleaf Toro perfectly balances richness, complexity, and smoothness, making for a complete smoke that is both engaging and satisfying. Chocolate, coffee bean, pepper, spice, and salted caramel flavors propel the medium-to-full-bodied experience to a glorious conclusion, while woody and leathery undercurrents generate texture along the way.
The Tabernacle line features cigar bands with Ethiopia’s last emperor Haile Selassie, who claimed a shared lineage with Solomon and a link to the Ark of the Covenant. So, the Tabernacle Broadleaf Toro is a fitting celebration of Ethiopia, its people, and its traditions. Yet it is also a fitting testament to Melillo’s passion for quality and the legacy of Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco.
