Handcrafted in Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Canada, by Sylvan Craft Spirits, Saskatoon Berry Gin is a regional craft expression that celebrates the local flavors of the Canadian prairies. Distilled in copper pot stills from 100% locally sourced Alberta grain, this spirit builds upon a classic botanical base of juniper, citrus, and spices by infusing locally harvested Saskatoon berries (Amelanchier alnifolia). The process imparts a deep, vibrant ruby hue alongside a rich balance of sweet, earthy berry richness, nutty almond undertones, and a dry, piney juniper backbone.
Food Pairing: Charcuterie boards with soft brie or goat cheese, roasted duck breast, pork tenderloin with berry glaze, dark chocolate tarts, Saskatoon berry pie, or lemon shortbread.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby-garnet to dark magenta in appearance, featuring a smooth, juicy, and velvety medium body.
Nose: Intensely aromatic and fruit-forward, opening with ripe Saskatoon berries, sweet blueberry-plum notes, and a hint of wild marzipan, supported by zesty lemon peel and grounding piney juniper.
Palate: Rich, well-balanced, and slightly tart on the palate, opening with juicy prairie berry sweetness before unfolding into complex layers of nutty almond, subtle citrus zest, warming coriander spice, and crisp juniper berries.
Finish: Medium-long, clean, and fruit-dry with lingering notes of tart berry skin, gentle earthy spice, and a refreshing pine warmth.
Serve: Serve over large ice cubes topped with premium Indian or Mediterranean tonic water, garnished with fresh Saskatoon berries or a slice of fresh lemon, or as a vibrant, prairie-inspired foundation for a French 75, Bramble, or Gin Sour.
