Stemmari Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC 750ml is a Sicilian red wine made entirely from Nero d’Avola grown around Sambuca di Sicilia, where clay-rich soils support the variety’s structured character. Stemmari harvests the grapes around the first week of September after aromatic and polyphenolic ripeness is reached. Following destemming, alcoholic fermentation takes place with several days of skin contact, followed by malolactic fermentation with selected bacteria. The wine then receives extended aging in French barriques. This single 750ml bottle is 13.5% ABV / 27 proof.
The producer describes a deep ruby-red color with violet highlights and an intense bouquet led by currant, wild strawberry, and pomegranate. On the palate, the wine is soft and velvety, with pronounced fruit character supported by its warm-climate Sicilian origin and barrel maturation. Stemmari recommends serving it at 60–64°F. Its structure and aromatic profile suit risotto, red meats, lamb, savory cheeses, and the Sicilian pasta classic spaghetti alla Norma.
