Choose a burr profile to suit the coffee you enjoy. SSP's 80mm blind burr range offers different approaches to clarity, sweetness and body, with options for filter coffee, espresso and brewing both ways.
Made in South Korea from tool steel, these burrs use a three-pin blind mounting system, with no mounting screws passing through the grinding surface. This listing is for the blind-mount format used by the Zerno Z2, Weber Workshops EG-1 and Option-O Lagom P80.
Burr options
Choose from Brewing, High Uniformity (HU), Low Uniformity (LU), Lab Sweet (LS) and BP, with Red Speed or Silver Knight coating options. Select your preferred burr design and coating above.
Which burr should I choose?
Start with your brewing method and the style of coffee you prefer. Here are three useful starting points:
- Brewing Blind: A filter-focused option for bright, clean cups with high clarity and distinct flavour separation. Its low-fines design suits drinkers who enjoy a lighter, tea-like body, particularly with light and medium roasts.
- Lab Sweet (LS) Blind: A versatile option for espresso and filter coffee, with an emphasis on sweetness, medium body and a rounded flavour profile. A good starting point when you use one grinder for both brewing methods.
- Low Uniformity (LU) Blind: An option for drinkers who value medium body and texture. Suitable for exploring both espresso and filter coffee without focusing solely on a light-bodied cup.
Considering HU or BP, or unsure which design suits you? Tell us your grinder, usual brewing method and the coffees you enjoy, and we'll help you narrow down the options.
Coating options
Red Speed and Silver Knight are protective coating options designed to improve wear resistance. Choose your burr design around your brewing preferences first, then select the coating. Neither coating should be treated as an espresso-only or filter-only option.
Grinder compatibility
These are 80mm three-pin blind-mount burrs for the following grinders:
- Zerno Z2
- Weber Workshops EG-1
- Option-O Lagom P80, subject to the suitability note below
Lagom P80 owners: Please contact us before ordering so we can confirm the suitability of your chosen burr design for your brewing setup.
Please check the mounting format before ordering. Burr diameter alone does not establish compatibility. SSP makes several 80mm mounting formats, so these should not be treated as a universal replacement for every 80mm grinder.
Looking for the screw-mount version? See our SSP 80mm Burrs for Ditting 804/807, Mahlkonig Peak and E80.
Installation
Follow your grinder manufacturer's instructions for burr replacement and calibration. Make sure the burr carriers are clean before fitting the new set, and check the grind adjustment before use.
What's included
One complete SSP 80mm blind burr set, comprising the rotating and stationary burrs in your selected design and coating.
