Smirnoff 100 Proof Vodka is a bold, high-strength expression of one of the world’s most recognized vodka brands. Clean, crisp, and powerful at 50% ABV, it delivers the classic smooth neutrality of Smirnoff with a stronger structure that holds up beautifully in cocktails. Designed for bartenders and vodka drinkers who want intensity without sacrificing smoothness, it’s a dependable choice for martinis, highballs, and mixed drinks that benefit from extra proof.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Smirnoff is one of the most iconic names in vodka, originally founded in Moscow in the 19th century by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov. After the Russian Revolution, the brand moved west and eventually became a global powerhouse under the ownership of Diageo, today distributed in more than 130 countries worldwide.
Smirnoff 100 Proof—sometimes labeled Smirnoff No. 57 or Blue Label depending on market—is a stronger version of the brand’s classic vodka. It is produced from grain-based neutral spirits, then refined through a rigorous purification process designed to remove impurities while maintaining a clean flavor profile.
The vodka undergoes triple distillation and multiple filtration stages, which help achieve clarity, smoothness, and the neutral character expected from classic vodka.
Bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof), this version offers significantly more strength than standard 80-proof vodka. The higher proof gives the spirit greater presence in cocktails, allowing it to maintain its structure even when mixed with ice, juices, or soda.
Because of its clean neutrality and higher alcohol content, Smirnoff 100 Proof is widely favored for large-format cocktails, party punches, and classic bar drinks where the vodka must remain noticeable after dilution.
Critics Reviews
The Beverage Testing Institute awarded Smirnoff 100 Proof Vodka 88 points, describing it as medium- to full-bodied with notes reminiscent of mint, wet stone, and charcoal with a strong finish.
