Introduction:
Seghesio Old Vine Zinfandel is a bold and spicy expression of heritage vineyards, crafted from vines averaging 75 years old. These deep-rooted, low-yielding vines produce rich, concentrated flavors, resulting in a complex and intensely structured wine that showcases the power and elegance of old-vine Zinfandel.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of briary blackberries, dark cherry, and spiced plum, layered with hints of vanilla and toasty oak.
- Palate: Lush and full-bodied, featuring ripe black fruit, peppery spice, and subtle earthy notes, balanced by refined tannins.
- Finish: Long and velvety, with lingering notes of cocoa, cedar, and a touch of warm baking spices.
Pairings:
Pairs beautifully with grilled meats, barbecue ribs, and hearty pasta dishes. Its rich, spicy character also complements aged cheeses, braised short ribs, and savory roasted vegetables.
