Capranera, meaning “black goat,” takes its name from the native Cilentana Nera goats that roam the Cilento National Park, a symbol of the area’s rich biodiversity depicted on the label. Produced in the Cannito area of Capaccio-Paestum in Campania, this Aglianico comes from vineyards situated between 150 and 400 meters above sea level, with south to southwest exposure and vines aged 15–25 years. The grapes are gently crushed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, then aged for 8–10 months before bottling. The result is a vibrant, energetic wine with notes of ripe blackberry, white pepper, and rose petals, complemented by hints of wild berries and sage. This wine pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and aged cheeses.
