San Marzano Susco Susumaniello Salento 2020 pours an intense, lively ruby-red color in the glass. It features an intriguing and highly fragrant bouquet of crushed red berries, dark cherries, and ripe plums, beautifully woven with notes of sweet oriental spices, wild Mediterranean scrub, and delicate balsamic nuances. On the palate, this single-varietal Susumaniello is rich yet remarkably fresh and elegant, framed by fine-grained tannins integrated through six months of aging in French and American oak. It concludes with a persistent, structurally sound finish highlighted by a refreshing vein of acidity and lingering dark fruit notes.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with rich pasta dishes, grilled steaks, hearty beef stews, slow-roasted pork, and mature hard cheeses.
