Every once in a while a product as beautiful as these comes through our shop. We first saw these in 2018 at our annual Mcusta night with President Tomo Hasegawa. Amongst the dozens of gorgeous pocket knives and kitchen blades that Tomo brought for us to gawk at, was this stunning pair of scissors.
Designed for intricate fabric work and delicate crafting, these slim scissors have incredible action and with proper care should remain razor sharp for years to come.
Although stainless, please keep these scissors dry and clean. Periodic use of Tsubaki oil will help prolong their life.
Comes in a gorgeous Kiri wood box.
Made by Mcusta in Seki City, Japan.
A fusion of precision and sophistication
Mcusta knives are products that combine precision and sophistication. The precision comes from using Japan's proud state-of-the-art machine tools, while the sophistication comes from learning from the handiwork of our predecessors, such as polishing. This fusion of techniques can be described as man-machine custom (precision machining). MCUSTA is a single word that embodies this man-machine custom.
From the President of Mcusta and our dear friend Tomohiro Hasegawa:
The modern cutlery industry was born with the industrial revolution, and now thanks to 21st century technology Japan leads the field in the world of knife production.
We, Marusho Industry Inc., equip our workshops with the latest machines, create the most innovative knives, and constantly push new boundaries through daily production.
We believe it is our mission to supply the highest quality products to our clients across the world while maintaining age-old Japanese traditions.
We believe in maintaining complete control over the manufacturing process, and our master craftsmen infuse all of our products with the pride and traditions inherited from centuries of Japanese blade makers.
