Sagamore Spirit took their 4-year-old Maryland straight rye whiskey and did something genuinely inspired: finished it separately in vermouth, bitters, and cherry brandy barrels for an additional 20 months, then blended the three back together to create a whiskey that is essentially a Manhattan in a bottle.
The nose delivers herbaceous notes followed by flavors of rye baking spices and dark cherry — the classic Manhattan flavor profile translated into a single, beautifully crafted spirit. Drink it neat to experience the full complexity, or use it to make the easiest, most flavorful Manhattan of your life. Either way, this is an incredible whiskey.
