How do I use this smoked maple syrup to make an Old Fashioned?
Substitute this Runamok syrup for traditional simple syrup or maple syrup to build a smoky Old Fashioned in seconds. Start with a small measure, then adjust to taste; the syrup’s concentrated profile provides both sweetness and smoky depth, cutting down prep time and cleanup.
- Typical ratio: 1/4–1/2 oz syrup per cocktail, adjust by spirit strength.
- Combine with 2 oz bourbon or rye, stir with ice, garnish with orange peel.
- Works with bitters—Angostura or orange bitters enhance complexity.
- Use chilled or room-temperature; no reduction necessary.
Can I make non-alcoholic drinks with this syrup?
Yes—Runamok’s Smoked Maple Old Fashioned Syrup is formulated to blend smoothly into mocktails. Pair it with sparkling water, club soda, or unsweetened tea to create a refined, maple-forward beverage without alcohol.
- Mocktail idea: 1/2 oz syrup, top with 4–6 oz sparkling water, orange twist.
- Add citrus or bitters for balance and aromatic lift.
- Mix into coffee or hot chocolate as a seasonal sweetener alternative.
- Cold or warm service — syrup dissolves readily in both.
What makes Runamok’s smoked maple syrup different from ordinary mixers?
This product is made from organic smoked maple syrup produced by Vermont family sugarmakers and finished in a facility powered by solar energy. The smoking process and quality of the maple used give a multilayered flavor profile that includes natural maple sweetness plus a subtle wood-smoke character—without artificial flavors or refined sugars.
- Certified organic ingredients and Bird Friendly recognition from the National Audubon Society.
- Concentrated bottle form simplifies mixing versus raw maple syrup.
- No added refined sugars; flavor comes from real smoked maple.
- Compact 8.45 fl oz size is ideal for home bars or gift sets.
