Tasting notes: Juicy Pear, Earl Grey, Creamy Vanilla
Favourite Pear comes from smallholder producers in Kayanza, Burundi, whose Bourbon cherries are delivered to the Umoco washing station. The farms sit between 1,800 and 2,200 metres above sea level, where ripe cherries are handpicked before processing.
At Umoco, the coffee undergoes a double fermentation: 12 hours in water followed by 12 hours in cement tanks. It is then dried on raised African beds for 20 to 25 days, producing a clean, comforting cup with juicy pear, Earl Grey and creamy vanilla.
