Roper’s Hold 8 Year Old Straight Rye Whisky is a limited Canadian rye release blended and bottled by Calgary’s True Wild Distilling. Created from a collection of sourced eight-year-old straight rye whiskies, the blend brings together mature rye from three different sources. Bottled at 47% ABV, it offers a robust combination of caramel, black cherry and dried fruit with brown butter, oak and warming Christmas spices.
Food Pairing: Smoked brisket, grilled steak, aged cheddar, roasted nuts, fruit cake, or dark chocolate with dried cherries and warming spices.
Tasting Notes: Rich and robust, balancing caramel and black cherry with dried red fruit, brown butter, seasoned oak and warming rye spice.
Nose: Warm and inviting, with caramel and black cherry accompanied by dried fruit, gentle oak and underlying rye spice.
Palate: Rich and full-bodied, developing brown butter and red berries alongside seasoned oak and warming Christmas spices.
Finish: Lingering and warming, with woody rye spice, dried fruit and seasoned oak.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature, over a large cube of ice, or in rye-forward cocktails such as a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.
