The Rocky Patel Winter Collection is a seasonal limited release built for cooler months, first introduced in 2008 and now in its third version. The current blend wraps a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés Maduro leaf over Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco, smoking medium to full.
The San Andrés Maduro wrapper sits over a Nicaraguan binder and a mix of Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. The wrapper gives the cigar its near-black color and an earthy, lightly sweet character. The original 2008 release was blended by AJ Fernandez under a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper; the current version moved to San Andrés and is hand-rolled at the TAVICUSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The profile opens with white pepper and earth, carries leather and a sweet tobacco edge, and turns spicier through the final third. Espresso and a campfire-like aroma round it out. It carries real depth — a fireside cigar built for cold weather.
