Vint Cabernet Sauvignon Bourbon Barrels originates from the United States, within the California region and specifically the Monterey County subregion. The winery was established in 1966 by Robert Mondavi, a pioneer who transformed the Napa Valley and wider Californian wine industry with a vision to create world class wines that rival the best European crus. The Vint collection—part of the Robert Mondavi Private Selection—reflects a philosophy of innovation and accessibility, utilizing unique ageing techniques to craft bold wines for modern social rituals.
Wine Description
This Cabernet Sauvignon pours a deep ruby or garnet red colour with noticeable viscosity. The sensory profile is rich and layered, featuring an aromatic nose of blackberry cobbler, ripe cherries, and milk chocolate, accented by brown sugar, coffee, and a hint of smoke. On the full bodied palate, it is velvety and plush, delivering concentrated flavours of blueberry pie, praline, and vanilla custard alongside sweet tobacco and mocha. The finish is remarkably long and warming, characterized by soft tannins and persistent notes of caramel and toasted oak.
-
Varietal Composition: A blend predominantly consisting of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, though some releases may include small amounts of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah to add depth.
-
Stylistic Notes: The wine is aged for at least three to ten months in a combination of new oak and used bourbon barrels sourced from a renowned Kentucky distillery, which imparts deep undertones of char and sweet vanilla.
