Rig Hand Lazy B Corn Whisky is an Alberta-made corn whisky produced by Rig Hand Distillery in Nisku. Inspired by a traditional bourbon recipe learned from Stillwrights Distillery in Ohio, Rig Hand adapts the recipe using locally grown corn suited to Alberta’s northern climate, uniquely harvested after freezing in the field. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is a sweet, approachable sipping whisky with corn-driven sweetness, vanilla and caramel complemented by gentle oak and spice.
Food Pairing: Barbecue ribs, smoked pork, roasted nuts, aged cheddar, buttered popcorn, or caramel and vanilla desserts.
Tasting Notes: Smooth and sweet, emphasizing corn sweetness with vanilla, caramel and butterscotch alongside gentle oak, toasted nuts and light spice.
Nose: Sweet and corn-forward, with vanilla and caramel accompanied by subtle honey and gentle oak.
Palate: Smooth and creamy, developing sweet corn and butterscotch alongside vanilla, toasted nuts and restrained spice.
Finish: Warm and approachable, with lingering corn sweetness, vanilla and gentle oak.
Serve: Enjoy neat, over ice as recommended by the producer, or in bourbon-style cocktails such as an Old Fashioned.
