From the United States, this wine hails from Sonoma Valley in California, specifically the Pagani Ranch in the Sonoma Valley AVA. Ridge Vineyards is a historic California winery founded in the 1960s and renowned for its dedication to terroir-driven winemaking. With a focus on sustainable farming and minimal intervention, Ridge has built a legacy around single-vineyard expressions—Pagani Ranch being one of its most iconic Zinfandel sources, planted in the late 19th century.
This Zinfandel showcases a deep ruby hue with vibrant clarity. On the nose, it opens with an expressive bouquet of black raspberry, cherry compote, and sweet spice, followed by hints of wild herbs and crushed violets. The palate is rich yet balanced, featuring ripe blackberry, licorice, and a touch of peppery warmth. It is medium to full-bodied, with structured tannins and refreshing acidity carrying through to a long, polished finish.
