Varietal: Merlot MSRP: $21.00 ABV: 14% Region: Paso Robles, California
I’s no coincidence that the 2013 Rancho Campo, made entirely from fruit picked at Tierra Rejada, one of the oldest and most esteemed vineyards in Paso Robles, is among the best Merlots we’ve ever tasted. Aromatic and deeply flavorful, this smooth easy drinking wine carries in it the almost 50 years of history and tradition the vineyard has to offer. Juicy, full-bodied, and extremely food-friendly, this wine is perfect for opening with company; leaving your guests satisfied down to the last drop.
REGION There’s a reason Paso Robles is the fastest growing wine region in California. Encompassing over 614,000 acres of land, with 32,000 acres of grapevines, the area’s verdant soils, warm days, and cool nights make it one of the best regions in the world for growing bold, nutrient dense grapes. Filled with some of the boldest, most innovative winemakers working today, the region is known for producing distinctively flavorful and incredibly drinkable wines.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2013 Rancho Campo opens with deep aromas of blueberry and plum with notes of cinnamon spice. A rich, chewy texture unfolds with juicy flavors of black cherry and cassis. Luscious yet with perfect acidity joins a smooth textured finish.
