This structured and 'muscular' American whiskey originates from the United States, crafted in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky within the renowned Kentucky Bourbon & Rye district. Produced by Rabbit Hole Distillery an innovative, visionary distillery founded in 2012 by Kaveh Zamanian and now part of Pernod Ricard 'Boxergrail' honors Louisville’s rich boxing heritage and legendary local fighters. Sourced from choice, estate-designed grain recipes and distilled in custom copper column stills, the spirit matures in charred American oak casks within traditional multi-story rickhouses. Louisville’s extreme humid continental climate features scorching summer heat waves and freezing winter nights, driving intense interaction between spirit and wood to forge deep amber color, rich oak sugars, and bold spice complexity.
Wine Description
The Rabbit Hole ‘Boxergrail’ Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey presents a deep, luminous copper-amber color in the glass with bright golden-orange highlights along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally bold, high-toned, and complex, delivering an expansive, precise, and expressive portrayal of modern Kentucky Straight Rye. The bouquet opens with a soaring, multi-layered display of toasted rye bread, candied citrus peel, and sweet vanilla bean, seamlessly integrated with complex underlays of baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove), fresh spearmint, pipe tobacco, toasted oak, and a subtle line of dark caramel. On the palate, the whiskey is full-bodied, muscular, and athletic, showcasing a succulent core of spiced orchard fruit, butterscotch, dark cocoa nibs, and savory herbal notes. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering spicy drive that cuts through the rich wood sweetness. The mouthfeel is broad, velvety, and supple, carrying into an extraordinarily long, dry, and warm finish accented by persistent notes of black pepper, mint, and charred oak.
