A smaller version of the Pulsar, optimised for doses between 12g and 20g.
This is the best manual no-bypass brewer on the market, with the perfect water spray, distance from the shower screen to the coffee, and great paper filters “creped” for high flow and high clarity.
We’re calling it the Pulsar Mini.
Pulsar is best suited for 15-40g doses
Pulsar Mini is best suited for 12-20g doses
Pulsar Mini is best suited for 12-20g doses
It delivers everything brewers already love about the Pulsar, now in a compact, more forgiving form factor that makes brewing accessible to an even wider audience.
We’ll be opening pre-orders for early release next month, and based on the feedback we’ve already received, we expect demand to be strong.
Features
- Flow Control: The pulsar Mini brewer offers complete control over agitation and flow rate, and makes it easy to retain water during the blooming phase.
- Smaller Doses: Optimised for doses between 12g & 20g.
- Diffused Pouring: Start a controller brew with a uniform wetting of the grounds with the carefully designed dispersion cap.
- No Water Bypass: Eliminate the unknown amount of water bypassing the coffee bed (easily control the strength with brew ratio).
- High Versatility: The valve and the "no bypass" brewer design provide an unlimited number of possible combinations of immersion and percolation.
- Made in the USA: All parts manufactured in the United States of America!

Mini Brewing Tips
Comparing to the PULSAR with the smaller MINI
- ● Generally, all of the PULSAR recipes can be adapted to the MINI by changing the grind size and/or matching the ‘Bed Depth’ and brew ratio.
- ● The flow will generally be slower (ie the flow out of the bottom will be less or even broken) But the water column height will lower at a similar rate at similar bed depths.
- ● There’s a correlation between a Bed Depth and TBT (Total Brew Time). Deeper beds seem to need a longer contact time.
- ● As bed depth increases so should the grind size.
- ● The MINI 'swirl' is different, it needs to be faster/smaller circles.
- ● Users need to be more intentional about closing the valve during agitation (even while adding water) to keep fines from clogging the smaller filter area.
- ● If the TBT is longer than you want, try: grinding coarser, reduce agitation, reduce brew ratio (Usually add dilute with this option) or add bloom water before the coffee. Larger doses (20g - 25g) can also flow really well.
- ● Adding the paper filter to a wet base doesn’t work as well as the PULSAR. Starting with a dry filter seems to work well with the smaller 58mm diameter paper filter.
- ● Both drippers use the same valve.
The Importance of Bed Depth
| Bed depth | Brew time | Relative burr gap | Dose (Pulsar) | Dose (Mini) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14 mm | 3:20 - 3:40 | 0 | 20 g | 10.7 g |
| 15 mm | 3:30 - 4:00 | +15 µm (3 marks) | 22 g | 12 g |
| 17 mm | 3:40 - 4:40 | +40 µm (8 marks) | 25 g | 15 g |
| 19 mm | 3:53 - 5:20 | +65 µm (13 marks) | 28 g | 18 g |
| 20 mm | 4:00 - 5:40 | +80 µm (16 marks) | 30 g | 19.5 g |
| 23.3 mm | 4:20 - 6:45 | +125 µm (25 marks) | 35 g | 22.8 g |
| 25 mm | 4:30 - 7:20 | +145 µm (29 marks) | 37.5 g | 24.4 g |
