This structured and 'classic' red wine originates from Italy, specifically from the Barbaresco D.O.C.G. appellation in the Piedmont region. The Bric Turot vineyard is a historic five-hectare estate plot in Treiso, featuring magnesium-rich 'Tortoniano' soils with a unique bluish hue. Founded in 1922 by Alfredo Prunotto, the winery became a pioneer of single-vineyard bottlings under Beppe Colla in the 1960s and has been owned by the Antinori family of Tuscany since the 1990s. The winery's philosophy combines traditional Piedmontese viticulture with modern technology to express the specific territorial aromas of their Langhe hill sites.
Wine Description
A beautiful, intense, and bright ruby red colour. The complex sensory profile features an expressive nose of wild fruits, cherry stones, and strawberries, layered with savory notes of walnuts, tobacco, white pepper, and aromatic herbs such as pine and mint. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and 'velvety', showcasing a core of dark red fruit, cloves, and leather with clean mineral notes. It is characterized by its harmony and finesse, supported by fine, lightly chalky tannins and a persistent finish. This 100% Nebbiolo was aged for 12 months in oak barrels of varying capacities followed by an additional year in the bottle, typically reaching an alcohol content of approximately 14%. While the estate follows modern sustainable practices, this bottling is not labelled as organic.
