Preda del Falco is a distinguished winery nestled in the historic hills of Montefalco, within the Umbria region of central Italy. Dedicated to the preservation of traditional winemaking, the estate is recognized for crafting powerful expressions of indigenous varietals, particularly the robust Sagrantino grape. Its name, translating to ‘Falcon’s Prey’, honours the natural heritage and commanding presence of the landscape.
This 2019 Montefalco Sagrantino opens with a deep garnet hue and an aromatic intensity that weaves together ripe blackberry, dried plum, anise, and leather. On the palate, it delivers a full-bodied structure marked by firm, gripping tannins and vibrant acidity, supported by dark fruit, tobacco, and a hint of dark chocolate. Aged to integrate complexity and depth, the wine finishes with enduring length and spice.
Food Pairing
Ideal alongside slow-cooked meats such as osso buco, grilled lamb chops, or aged pecorino. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
