Since the launch of the Porlex Mini and Tall II Grinder range in August 2017, these grinders have set the benchmark in the $100 price range, earning the reputation as the best ceramic hand grinders on the market.
Porlex is world-famous for its commitment to precision, quality, and longevity. We have been importing and selling Porlex grinders since 2012, and through three generations of grinder models, we have always ensured 100% availability of spare parts.
Unlike other hand grinders on the market, every single component of a Porlex grinder is replaceable, ensuring it remains functional for years, even decades. Many of our customers from 2012 are still using their original Porlex grinders daily, having only upgraded or replaced burrs when needed. (The Burrs can be broken if dropped, please take care when cleaning them)

What else makes Porlex unique?
-
Laser-Etched Burrs: Each ceramic burr is laser-etched with the Porlex logo, guaranteeing authenticity and superior quality control. These burrs are renowned for outperforming imitation models after just a few uses. The craftsmanship behind Porlex’s ceramic burrs is unmatched by any Chinese-made copy.
-
Patented Pending Handle Design: The Porlex Mini and Tall II grinders feature a patented slotted handle design that locks securely into place with a twist. This prevents the handle from detaching during grinding—an issue often found with the older hexagonal designs or imitation grinders.
Perfect for Travel: Weighing just 280g, the Porlex Mini is lightweight and compact, easily fitting inside an Aeropress, making it the ideal travel companion for coffee lovers on the go.
-
Superior Manufacturing Quality: The stainless steel construction of Porlex grinders is impeccably smooth and precisely fitted. Even something as simple as removing and replacing the lid demonstrates the stark difference in quality between Porlex and Chinese knockoffs.
Additionally, each grinder comes beautifully packaged with detailed English instructions, which we helped to refine and translate for ease of use. The Porlex team in Japan is constantly researching, testing, and innovating to improve their products. Their factory staff—who take great pride in their work—ensure that each product meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Recently, we conducted a blind taste test with some colleagues in the coffee industry, comparing the Porlex & the Comandante C40. The coffee we used had rich chocolate, hazelnut, and red fruit notes, and surprisingly, the Porlex was unanimously chosen as the favourite.
While it’s important to note that for bright, acidic, and fruity coffees, the Comandante C40 and tend to excel due to their superior grind precision and ability to bring out delicate, high-acidity flavors, the Porlex really shines for those rich, chocolatey profiles often found in milk-based drinks. Given its price point around $100, it offers tremendous value for this style of brewing.
