Plasencia El Año del Caballo (Year of the Horse) is a striking, limited-edition release crafted for seasoned palates and collectors alike. Created to honor the upcoming Lunar New Year, this cigar showcases Plasencia’s mastery of both blending and presentation—melding tradition, symbolism, and bold flavor into one unforgettable smoke.
Handcrafted in a single 7 x 58 Parejo Gordo vitola, the cigar features an extraordinary braided tobacco cap designed to resemble a horse’s mane or tail. This intricate finish requires an additional roller and meticulous humidity control, resulting in a true heirloom-quality cigar. The same braided motif is echoed on the elegant 10-count boxes, reinforcing the equine theme throughout.
Beneath the artistry lies a powerful, full-bodied blend. An organically grown Jalapa wrapper envelops a Nicaraguan binder and a refined mix of Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers, all grown and aged by the Plasencia family. The flavor journey opens with earthy oak and warm spice, transitions into dark coffee and toasted nuts, and finishes with lingering notes of dark chocolate and dried fruit.
Produced in extremely limited quantities—just 6,000 boxes worldwide—El Año del Caballo is a bold celebration of craftsmanship, symbolism, and depth of flavor. A must-have for those who appreciate rare cigars with both visual impact and serious complexity.
