Note: Oak look is made of sustainable birch wood vacuumed dyed, coated in a heat and water resistant wax.
The Step Between Grinding and Tamping That Changes Everything The Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT) has become the industry standard for a reason: it works. Clumping is one of the most common and least visible causes of channelling in espresso — when grounds clump together unevenly in the basket, water finds the path of least resistance rather than flowing evenly through the puck, resulting in over-extracted patches alongside under-extracted ones. The Pesado WDT Clump Crusher breaks those clumps before they become a problem, fluffing and redistributing grounds evenly throughout the basket so your tamp lands on a uniform, consistent bed of coffee every single time.
Eight Precision Needles, Fully Removable At the core of the Clump Crusher is a set of eight 0.3mm stainless steel needles, each 45mm long — fine enough to move through even densely packed grounds without disturbing the basket structure, and long enough to reach the full depth of the puck for thorough distribution. The standout feature is the removable needle system: each needle can be cleaned, replaced, or reconfigured individually, meaning you never need to replace the entire tool when a needle bends or wears. It's a practical, cost-effective design choice that reflects Pesado's broader philosophy of building tools that last.
Matched to Your Setup, Built to Last Available in both wooden (birch, vacuum-dyed) and stainless steel versions to match the rest of your Pesado kit — whether you've built out a wooden portafilter and tamper set or a fully metallic bench setup. The stainless steel version is available in four electro-polished finishes: black, silver, gold, and bronze. Compatible with any portafilter size, and pairs perfectly with the Pesado WDT Clump Crusher Stand for a tidy, ready-to-use position between shots. If you're already using a quality grinder and tamper, a WDT tool is the next logical step — and the Pesado is one of the best built versions of it available.
