Penelope tossed the standard finishing playbook. The Cooper Series Havana takes a robust four-year Indiana bourbon and repeatedly subjects it to an intensely unorthodox double-cask maturation process. It rests inside Caribbean rum barrels for twelve months before absorbing sticky remnants of farm-sourced maple syrup casks. The resulting liquid glides effortlessly. That rum influence delivers a tropical undercurrent while maple tempers the underlying oak spice with unapologetically decadent sweetness.
Expect a stark departure from traditional whiskey norms. This bottle leans unapologetically into dessert territory without completely erasing the underlying four-grain structural integrity.
- Crafted from an intricate blend of corn, wheat, rye, and barley.
- Aged in ex-rum casks before a maple syrup barrel finale.
- Bottled at an exceptionally approachable ninety-three proof.
The specs yield a lush mouthfeel. It deliberately bypasses conventional vanilla nuances for something noticeably darker, pushing the drinker's palate into a bold territory dominated by heavy molasses.
