Translating to "the high" or "the height", we think El Alto is an excellent name for this specific Patrón Tequila. The agave used for this expression is harvested from the highlands at maturity and cooked slowly to develop caramelized sugars and roasted notes.
On the nose, Patron's El Alto Tequila opens with a warm, layered sweetness that speaks more of its time in oak than of raw agave. Baked fig, honey and dried fruit lead the way, while a soft veil of vanilla and toasted wood rises behind them. Caramel rounds out the deeper register, and beneath it all the agave remains present as a refined, cooked core rather than a green, grassy shout. The palate is smooth and generous, carrying honeyed agave into flavors of dried fruit, vanilla and caramel, finished with a gentle touch of oak.
This blend of Extra Añejo, Añejo, and Reposado tequilas is made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the high country of Jalisco and bottled at 40% ABV. It is built for slow sipping: pour it neat into a proper tasting glass, give it a few minutes, and let the fig and caramel notes open up as it warms.
True tequila craftsmanship awaits. Grab your very own bottle of Patron's El Alto Tequila.
