Ouzo 12 Greek Anise Spirit 750ml is a Greek anise spirit whose name traces to Barrel No. 12 at the Kaloyannis distillery in 1880. Bottled in a 750ml glass format at 40% ABV / 80 proof, Ouzo 12 is double distilled from agricultural alcohol with aromatic seeds and herbs, including anise, fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, and nutmeg. The current bottle carries the prominent red-and-cream Ouzo 12 label and a natural-toned closure, preserving the expression’s distinctive presentation.
The aromatic profile centers on anise, fennel, and liquorice, supported by warm cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, and nutmeg. Its texture is smooth and lightly sweet, with herbal spice building through the palate and lingering in the finish. The clear spirit is traditionally served with cold water, which turns it cloudy as the anise oils disperse and softens the intensity of the botanicals. Ice may be added after dilution for a cool, aromatic serve alongside a meal.
