Ornellaia Le Volte dell'Ornellaia 2023 is an exceptionally vibrant, approachable, and expressive Super Tuscan red wine that serves as the perfect introduction to the prestigious winemaking philosophy of the legendary Ornellaia estate. Reflecting the natural warmth of the sun-drenched coastal vineyards of Bolgheri, this wine shows an inviting depth and fresh complexity. It opens with bright aromas of fresh blueberries, dark cherries, and ripe blackberries, layered with delicate floral notes, wild herbs, sweet spices, and subtle cedarwood. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied and remarkably balanced, seamlessly combining a rich core of juicy dark fruits with a crisp line of food-friendly acidity. The finely textured, silky tannins provide a svelte structure, leading to a long, clean, and satisfyingly savory finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with grilled rosemary lamb chops, slow-cooked wild boar ragù over pappardelle, classic wood-fired sausage pizza, or a selection of medium-aged Pecorino cheeses.
90 Points - James Suckling
