One With Tea Organic Japanese Genmaicha with Matcha is a USDA Organic loose-leaf green tea blending whole-leaf sencha, roasted brown rice, and matcha for a smooth, nutty cup.
This artisan Japanese blend pairs the grassy brightness of sencha with the toasty warmth of genmaicha’s roasted brown rice and a hint of vibrant matcha powder. Packaged as a premium loose-leaf offering from One With Tea, it’s crafted to deliver balanced flavor, easy brewing, and authentic Japanese tea character. The product listing here represents a parent SKU that organizes flavor variations rather than a single sellable unit.
What makes this Genmaicha with Matcha different from ordinary green teas?
This blend stands out because it combines whole-leaf sencha with lightly toasted brown rice and a measured addition of matcha for color and depth. The result is a cup that merges vegetal clarity with warm, popcorn-like rice notes and a touch of creaminess from matcha.
- Whole-leaf sencha for fresh, grassy tea flavor
- Roasted brown rice adds nutty, toasty aroma
- Matcha infusion brings bright color and rounded mouthfeel
- USDA Organic ingredients and traditional Japanese sourcing
How should I brew this loose-leaf Genmaicha to get the best flavor?
For a balanced cup, steep at a lower temperature and for a short time to avoid bitterness and preserve the matcha notes. Use more leaves for stronger flavor or adjust steep time for milder results.
- Water temperature: 160–175°F (70–80°C)
- Tea amount: 1–2 teaspoons per 8 oz (240 ml)
- Steep time: 1–2 minutes for first infusion; up to 2 minutes for a second infusion
- Optional: whisk briefly for a frothier matcha-forward cup
What flavor profile and aroma can I expect from this tea?
Expect a layered profile where green, grassy notes from sencha meet the warm, biscuity roast of the brown rice and a subtle umami sweetness from matcha. The texture is generally smooth with a gentle finish and minimal astringency when brewed correctly.
- Top notes: fresh steamed greens and seaweed-like clarity
- Mid palate: toasted rice, light caramel, soft nuttiness
- Finish: clean, slightly sweet, and rounded by matcha
- Suitable hot or lightly chilled for iced servings
How should I store this tea to preserve freshness?
Keep the loose leaves away from heat, light, moisture, and strong odors to maintain aroma and flavor. Use an airtight container and store in a cool, dark cupboard for best results.
- Use an opaque, airtight tin or jar
- Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight
- Avoid refrigeration if the packaging is not moisture-proof
- Consume within a reasonable period after opening for peak freshness
