90 points, Cigar Aficionado
The Oliva Serie V Special Figurado is an iconic, large-format figurado within the famed Serie V portfolio, engineered to offer a dramatic, evolving expression of full-bodied Nicaraguan power. Measuring 6 inches with a commanding 60 ring gauge at its widest point, this tapered shape concentrates airflow through the head while giving the extensive core of Jalapa Valley Ligero room to expand. As the burn transitions across the contour of the vitola, the smoke volume expands, delivering a smooth escalation of flavour, body, and aromatic intensity.
The structural and tobacco specifications of this exact vitola are masterfully calculated to deliver a slow, cool burn and voluminous smoke output across a 65-to-80-minute tasting session. Encased in a dark, oily Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown wrapper, the cigar uses a sturdy Nicaraguan binder to hold a core of aged Nicaraguan Jalapa Valley Ligero long-fillers. Hand-rolled by master torcedores at the TABOLISA factory in Estelí, this 6″ x 60 Special Figurado format guarantees structural perfection, a smooth and concentrated draw, a stable burn line, and an intricate progression of bold flavours.
