Ole Smoky Salty Watermelon Whiskey puts a favorite summer snack in a bottle. Ole Smoky Distillery makes it in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It blends whiskey with sweet watermelon flavor and a pinch of salt. At 60 proof, or 30% ABV, it is light and easy to sip.
Open the bottle and ripe, fresh-cut watermelon jumps out. A faint salty note sits under the fruit. On the palate, juicy watermelon comes first. Then the salt shows up and keeps the sweetness in check. Gentle whiskey warmth holds it all together. The finish stays fresh, with lingering melon and a light salty edge.
Judges have enjoyed it too. Ole Smoky lists a Double Gold at the 2023 PR%F Awards. It took Silver at the 2026 New York International Spirits Competition. It earned another Silver at the 2026 L.A. Spirits Awards. Back in 2022, it won Silver at the John Barleycorn Awards.
This whiskey is made for warm days. Serve it chilled or over ice. Mix it with lemonade or soda water for a quick cooler. It also shines in a watermelon margarita or a whiskey lemonade. For more easy ideas, browse our ready-to-drink cocktails.
Grab a bottle if you want a playful change from traditional whiskey. It fits cookouts, pool days and backyard parties. Pair it with grilled shrimp, BBQ chicken, salty snacks or a fresh fruit plate. You can find more fun spirits for your next get-together, too.
