Ole Smoky Hunch Punch Lightnin' Moonshine is produced in the United States, within the region of Tennessee and the subregion of Gatlinburg. Founded in 2010 by Joe Baker, Ole Smoky Distillery was the first federally licensed distillery in the history of East Tennessee. The company operates four experiential distilleries in Tennessee and remains a pioneer in the legal moonshine industry, with the founders continuing as significant shareholders following an acquisition by Apax Partners in 2022.
Spirit Description
This potent spirit is a hearty yet refined version of traditional party punch, crafted from a century-old family recipe. It presents a radiant clarity and features a summery blend of natural juices including orange, pineapple, and cherry. The nose explodes with tropical fruit aromas and a hint of sweet citrus, while the palate offers a juicy medley of fruit flavours tempered by clean mineral undertones and a warm, peppery kick. It possesses a smooth, medium-sweet body and a lingering finish that captures the essence of Southern tradition.
