The Old Pulteney Port Single Malt Scotch blends the coastal spirit of the far‑northern Highlands with the rich character of Portuguese ruby port. Initially, it is matured in ex‑bourbon casks. Then, it receives additional aging in selected ruby port barrels, giving it sweetness, spice, and maritime freshness.
On the nose, the whisky offers vanilla, sultanas, and buttery notes. Next, layers of candied orange peel, cherries, and marzipan appear, adding depth. The palate is smooth and flavorful. You’ll taste baked apple, caramelised sugar, and cinnamon pastry, along with vanilla custard and subtle rose water. Finally, it finishes with plum jam, warming spice, and gentle minerality.
