Old Forester 1870 Original Batch is a bourbon whiskey produced by the Old Forester Distillery. Old Forester is one of the oldest bourbon brands in the United States, with a history dating back to the 19th century. The "1870" in the name refers to the year that Old Forester introduced the first bottled bourbon. Old Forester 1870 Original Batch is part of the Whiskey Row Series, a collection of expressions that pays homage to significant moments in the brand's history. Specifically, the "1870 Original Batch" is intended to replicate the style of bourbon produced by Old Forester in the year 1870. It is crafted to reflect the methods and techniques used during that era. This bourbon is known for its rich and complex flavor profile, with notes of caramel, vanilla, oak, and spice. It is bottled at a higher proof, contributing to its robust character. As with many premium bourbons, Old Forester 1870 Original Batch is often enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to unlock its full range of flavors.
