Introduction
Ol' Beautiful Brass Monkey is a refreshing, fruit-forward twist on the classic blonde ale from Calgary’s Ol' Beautiful Brewing Co. This beer is designed to be the ultimate easy-drinking companion, taking the clean foundations of a traditional blonde ale and infusing it with a bold, citrusy personality. It has quickly become a local favorite for its bright character and high "crushability" factor.
Beer Description
This Blood Orange Blonde pours a beautiful, slightly hazy golden-orange hue with a frothy, white head that lingers.
Aroma: The nose is immediately greeted by a burst of fresh, zesty blood orange. This dominant citrus note is backed by subtle hints of sweet cracker malt and a very faint floral hop presence.
Palate: It offers a crisp and light-bodied mouthfeel with a gentle malt sweetness. The blood orange provides a tangy, juicy fruit character that is bright but not overpowering, finishing clean and dry with almost no bitterness.
Profile: It has an ABV of 5.0% and a very low IBU, making it an incredibly smooth, refreshing, and accessible choice for those who enjoy fruit-integrated beers.
Technical Notes: Brewed as a clean American Blonde Ale and infused with natural blood orange to achieve its signature flavor profile. The focus is on balancing the tartness of the fruit with a mellow malt backbone to ensure it remains a beer-first beverage.
